4. Vacuum Control Solenoid
This is another device that regulates the vacuum coming in and out of the EGR valve. This device is composed of magnetic coils connected to a plunger that blocks and uncovers the vacuum ports depending on the voltage supplied to the coils. The voltage is modulated by timers, relays or engine computers depending on the car model in use.
